The House of the Rising Spade is a place built for your imagination: an esoteric realm full of mysteries built for cartomancers, cardists, magicians, collectors, dreamers, and card enthusiasts. Cartomancer’s layout draws inspiration from tarot decks, featuring pips oriented in a single direction and a conspicuous absence of a standard index. Instead, the number is centrally positioned at the top of the group of pips. The Court Cards adhered to a medieval theme, replete with ornate attire and armors, staying true to the traditional world of jacks, queens, kings, and jokers. The aces have a magick sigil and the borders of the 54 faces are in gold. The Ace of Spades, however, received distinctive treatment representing Room 17 within the house. The deck features a full-bleed black back design and gold cold-foiled graphic elements on both sides of the cards. Cartomancer was printed by Cartamundi with B9 true linen finish. The tuckboxes were produced by Oath Playing Cards featuring deep embossing and high quality hot-foil.
