Journey (Red)2025

I am very happy today to present the Journey deck. The face cards are inspired by mythological figures from cultures along the Silk road, a potential travel path for playing cards in history. Every face card is named with a French transliteration of a concept in relation to the deity it depicts, echoing the French custom where cards received names from the local myths, legends, and histories. With this deck, I want to celebrate the history of playing cards as a medium that cristallized through travel and cultural exchange. This is also reflected in the blend of Mediterranean and Continental suits.
