MAC Deck of Cards
First, there was a Deck of Cards. Inspired by the irreverant imaging of M.A.C Cosmetics, the creative teams of M.A.C and Assouline got some of the most renowned designers, musicians, and artists to create unique body designs that became a provocative deck of playing cards. All the designs submitted were not only original and creative but reflected the individual personalities of the well-known participants. Models and artists donated their time and subjected themselves to long hours of nude body paintings, re-creating the images that photographer Richard Lohr has captured with his camera. The M.A.C Deck of Cards created such a positive reaction that Assouline decided to publish a book of these incredible images. Includes design work by: Todd Oldham, Collette Dinnigan, Diana von Furstenberg, Lawrence Steele, David Dalrymple, Alexander McQueen, Cecily Brown, Liev Schreiber, Susan Sarandon, Missy Elliot, Pink, Danni Minogue, Iggy Pop, Rocco Dispirito, Simon Doonan and others.
